Dowbiggin family at Robert Hall c. 1904<\/h4>\n<p class=\"giDescription\">This is same family plus William&#8217;s mother Mary Dowbiggin (nee Shuttleworth). I believe she originally lived at Oak bank or Oak head.<br \/>\nPhotograph is taken at Robert Hall around 1904.<br \/>\nWilliam&#8217;s wife Sarah Dowbiggin is missing as she died<br \/>\nduring childbirth (twins &#8211; neither survived) in 1897.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"giDescription\">Image 3. Mary Jane Carr and unknown girl at Thwaite Moss<\/h4>\n<p class=\"giDescription\">The woman in this picture is Mary Jane Carr, born Mary Jane Dowbiggin. She was the first daughter of Alice Dowbiggin and William Carr, born 12 years before their marriage in 1880. The identity of the girl is unknown but she has the white streak of hair that is a characteristic of the Dowbiggin family. The location is Thwaite Moss. After their marriage in 1880, Alice and William had three more children: John (see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tathamhistory.org.uk\/gallery\/?page_id=2000\" rel=\"nofollow\">Tunstall House<\/a>&nbsp;section), Thomas and Isabel.<\/p>\n<h4>Image 4. Carr family at Thwaite Moss<\/h4>\n<p class=\"giDescription\">William (1852-1927) and Alice (1852-1927, nee Dowbiggin) Carr with their children Mary Jane (b. 1868), John (b. 1883), Isabella (b. 1882) and Thomas (1889-1967), at Thwaite Moss.
