Photographed in 1973. A small cottage with a large barn, since converted. The track past Mashiters was once a well-used droving route, with wide verges; it had been upgraded in the late 1940s for use by vehicles working on the Haweswater aqueduct, which crosses under the Hindburn river nearby.
